It has been a long time coming but it seems as if Tottenham Hotspur might actually finish above Arsenal this season.
Not since 1994/95 have Spurs managed to end the campaign ahead of their fierce North London rivals, but 22 years of disappointment finally appear to be coming to an end.
The Gunners slumped to their fourth Premier League defeat in five games on Saturday, losing 3-1 at West Bromwich Albion to leave themselves six points behind Tottenham with both teams still having 11 games left.
Not since Arsene Wenger took charge at Highbury – now at the Emirates Stadium – back in 1996/97, have the Lilywhites got one over on their fierce rivals in the final table.

Last season was about as close as Spurs have come. Going into the last day they were two points ahead of Wenger’s men, yet lost 5-1 at already relegated Newcastle United to allow the Gunners to leapfrog them at the final hurdle with a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa.
