Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie is reportedly set to leave the Serie A club in the January transfer window, with Tottenham leading the chase to land the USA international.
According to CalcioMercato, the 24-year-old star will leave Turin in 2023, with the report stating that Antiono Conte ‘really likes him’ as McKennie looks set to end his time with Juventus after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where the midfielder is expected to play a starring role for the US.
Tottenham have been linked with McKennie for quite some time, with reports from as far back as 2021 suggesting that the north London club were interested in signing the former Schalke 04 dynamo. And now, 18 months later, Spurs could finally have the chance to sign the Texan midfielder.
The Daily Mail reported that Juventus value at £34m, but with the midfielder now seems keen to leave the club, Tottenham could sign McKennie for a much cheaper fee, though this could now depend on how well the Serie A star performs this winter in the World Cup.

With midfield a position Conte is eager to strengthen in the January market, McKennie could be a great addition to the squad and an ideal partner for the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur, with Tottenham’s current system in need of something a bit more dynamic in the centre of the park.
And this is what could make McKennie such a good signing for Tottenham should the midfielder leave Juventus. And following this latest update, Spurs should be doing all they can between now and January to land the 24-year-old ahead of other potential suitors.
Tottenham must win race to sign McKennie should he leave Juventus

McKennie’s time at Juventus has been as productive as it has been strange, with the midfielder, overall, proving to be quite the coup for the Old Lady. However, with the club heading in the wrong direction, jumping ship in January could be a smart move from the American, and Tottenham have to ensure they win the race for the 24-year-old.
Indeed, a dynamic midfielder with the ability to drive up the pitch and cause problems is exactly what Tottenham need in the winter, and with McKennie eager to leave Juventus, Conte could land the Serie A star for cheap in January if a deal is there to be done.
