Potential Tottenham signing is more than a destroyer.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal for Tanguy Ndombele, with The Guardian reporting a fee has been agreed with Lyon.
Ndombele is being signed to become the engine of Tottenham’s midfield.
He is on his way to becoming an elite defensive midfielder, strong in the tackle and intelligent and quick to read opposing attacks.
But it would be wrong to categorise Ndombele as a Ngolo Kante type player, a defensive shield who will let his teammates play.
Sure, he can do that, but he has more to offer too.
Ndombele is skilful in possession, and The Telegraph report: “Of every player to complete at least 50 dribbles in Ligue 1, Ndombele had the best dribble success rate at 68.5 per cent.”
This willingness to take players on and drive attacks forward is reminiscent of former Spurs fan favourite Mousa Dembele.

Dembele is the player Spurs are looking to replace, and Ndombele is an ideal fit.
Alongside Moussa Sissoko, Tottenham will have a pair of versatile midfielders who will not shirk challenges.
No wonder Tottenham are ready to pay a record fee.
