Conor Gallagher is now open to signing a new contract at Chelsea despite continued interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea may now push to keep hold of Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Conor Gallagher.

That is according to TalkSPORT, who claim that Gallagher is now open to signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues offloaded a number of homegrown players over the summer with Mason Mount a headline exit to Manchester United.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi were sold too but it looks like Gallagher may escape the homegrown cull at Chelsea.

Conor Gallagher could now sign new Chelsea deal

TalkSPORT suggest that Chelsea were actually tempted to sell Gallagher for around £50million over the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino appears to be a fan of Gallagher though and has started him in every Premier League game so far this season.

Gallagher has even captained Chelsea at times this season and the Blues now seem ready to open talks over a new deal.

Gallagher is a boyhood Chelsea fan so it’s no surprise to hear that he would now be keen on staying put in West London.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in 2025, so with just over 18 months left on his deal, Chelsea look ready to secure Gallagher’s future for the long term.

Tottenham Hotspur look set to miss out on Conor Gallagher again

Gallagher was the subject of strong interest late in the summer window with Tottenham pushing to land him.

Reports from the London Evening Standard on deadline day suggested that Spurs had offered £40million for Gallagher.

No deal was done as Chelsea wanted £50million, but the rumours haven’t gone away ahead of the January window opening.

90Min suggested earlier this month that Tottenham believe Gallagher would like a move to North London if he is to leave Chelsea.

These contract talks could effectively end the interest from Spurs though with Ange Postecoglou and co set to miss out.
