Torino striker and rumoured Tottenham target Andrea Belotti is set to have his dream move to AC Milan come crashing down with the Serie A side close to signing Divock Origi.
According to CalcioMercato, the Italian international has his heart set on a move to the Rossoneri, with Belotti’s contract set to expire this summer and the 28-year-old eyeing a transfer to the Italian giants in the transfer window.
However, despite interest from Milan, Stefan Pioli’s side are favouring a move for Origi, who is also set to leave Liverpool this summer on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this season.
And this news could be music for the likes of Tottenham, who Tuttosport report are interested in Belotti ahead of the summer window, a player who was quoted at €25m (£21m) in the January market.
With Milan now set on signing Origi, who was hailed as a ‘legendary’ figure at Anfield by former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher as per MNF, Tottenham could now be in the clear to shoot their shot at landing Belotti, who could be a sensational option for Spurs.
Antonio Conte is eager to add to Tottenham’s attacking options this summer, and a striker like Belotti, who is in the prime of his career and could offer immense competition for Harry Kane, is perfect for what the Italian is looking for in the window.
Tottenham should look to sign Belotti with Milan set on Origi
Belotti could be one of the most in-demand players in the summer market this year, and for Tottenham, they should view themselves as the favourites to land the striker given Milan’s strong interest in Origi in the past few weeks.
Indeed, Belotti is a player who could be ideal for Conte’s system and as a backup option for Kane in the attack, and with Milan unlikely to sign the 28-year-old given their progress with Origi, Tottenham should be wasting time on the Torino captain.
