Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi could reportedly move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, with Tottenham currently leading the race to sign the Italian international.

According to CalcioMercto, Frattesi’s recent form has caught the eye of many suitors ahead of the January market, with a move to the Premier League now a real possibility for the 23-year-old Serie A maestro, with Tottenham well in the race to sign the Sassuolo star.

As per the report, Antonio Conte is a fan of the Rome-born star, and Frattesi’s recent form has caught the eye of Premier League officials, with a January move now on the cards following the midfielder’s impressive displays in recent weeks for Sassuolo.

Gianluca Di Marzio has previously reported that Frattesi could leave the Neroverdi for £26m, with the likes of AS Roma and West Ham also tracking the Sassuolo maestro. However, this latest update seems to put Tottenham in the driving seat for the Italian international.

With three goals in nine Serie A appearances, it makes sense why the likes of Tottenham and Jose Mourinho are chasing Frattesi ahead of the January window. And with the midfielder bracing for a move to the Premier League, there’s a good chance that Conte could soon land his fellow countryman.

Indeed, Tottenham are lacking a central midfielder who can offer a goalscoring or creative threat, and Frattesi would fill this void perfectly if Spurs can win the race for the Sassuolo star in the coming weeks. However, signing the Italian is easier said than done.

Rivals could cause Tottenham problems in attempt to sign Frattesi

Frattesi has emerged as one of Serie A’s breakout stars this season, and for Tottenham, this could cause some problems in January if Conte and Fabio Paratici are to launch an assault to sign the Italian international in the winter market.

After all, Tottenham are far from the only club interested in signing Frattesi heading into 2023, and the midfielder’s performances will only attract more suitors, which could cause Spurs many problems in their own attempts to sign the 23-year-old.
