Tottenham Hotspur are said to be showing interest in the midfielder as a possible replacement for Mousa Dembele.

A Tottenham Hotspur scout was among those scheduled to watch Red Bull Salzburg’s Europa League quarter-final tie against Lazio on Thursday, according to laola1.
And had they indeed taken in the game, which was being being held at Salzburg’s Red Bull Arena, the Spurs representative might well have seen what they came to see.

It’s less than a month since the London side were credited with interest in Amadou Haidara – with the Sun newspaper suggesting Salzburg midfielder as a possible replacement for Mousa Dembele – who is the likely focus of their attention in Austria.
And the 20-year-old was on target for the sixth time this season as his side came from 5-2 down on aggregate to progress to the last four.

Munas Dabbur may have cancelled out Ciro Immobile’s opener in the 56th minute, but it was Haidara’s strike – a low, arrowed drive from 25 yards – that truly sparked Salzburg’s revival, with another two goals arriving inside four minutes.
Whether Tottenham decide to act on their alleged interest remains to be seen, although Haidara appears to be doing his best to keep them keen.
Would Haidara be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
