Pierre Emile Hojbjerg has told BT that Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho puts on superb training sessions.

Hojbjerg was one of Tottenham’s first new arrivals over the summer, with Mourinho making the defensive midfielder one of his top targets.

And Hojbjerg only has positive words to say about his first few months at Spurs.

“It’s great to train under José Mourinho,” Hojbjerg said. “He is a great trainer and he has a great personality. You can learn a lot from him, and he’s incredibly hungry and motivated to keep learning, and that’s really cool.

“He’s himself. He is a great man and a great coach and he is a great motivation to keep doing his best for the club and for the team.

“Each coach has their own view on some small details, and that view he shares. I grasp, and I am motivated to keep taking several good steps.”

Hojbjerg already looks key at Tottenham, with the former Southampton man being afforded plenty of game time.

The Dane may have struggled in his first couple of appearances in a Spurs shirt, but has really grown into his role now.

Hojbjerg’s recent appearance against Manchester United was his finest game in Tottenham colours to date, as his aggression really helped set the tone for his side.

Hojbjerg also showed off an excellent range of passing, which is one of his skills that sometimes goes unnoticed.

The 25-year-old now looks almost certain to start this weekend, when Spurs take on West Ham United.
