Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored another hat-trick at the weekend, helping his side to a 4-0 win over Stoke City.
The third of his goals was a little fortuitous, with his strike from outside the box taking a deflection on it’s way into the net.
Stoke’s wall was distracted by Victor Wanyama getting in amongst them, and Tottenham striker Kane said that after the goal the midfielder had joked he wished he was the one to have directed the ball into the goal.
Kane told Tottenham’s official website: “I thought I’d have a swing at it with my left foot and luckily Victor jumped over it as well. It was nice to see it go into the bottom corner.
“Victor had a joke with me afterwards saying he should have flicked it in!
“After his goal on Thursday night he probably wanted another but he left that one for me!”
The goal was Kane’s 17th in the Premier League this season, which took him to the top of the Golden Boot charts, alongside Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
Wanyama scored in the midweek draw against Gent in the Europa League, a match which sealed their exit from the Europa League.
Spurs got back on track at the weekend and the team spirit within the camp surely helped them avoid dwelling on their swetback. They could not have asked for a better opponent than a Stoke City side who folded easily, ensuring a leisurely second half for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
