Spurs striker Harry Kane spoke to the media ahead of his side’s crucial FA Cup quarter final clash with Millwall on Sunday, and shared how his time spent at the New Den on loan helped develop him into the player that he has become today, highlighting how his spell in South London turned him into a ‘man’, as quoted by the Mirror.
The 23-year-old is now widely considered as one of Europe’s best strikers, and he has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season, scoring 24 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Kane didn’t get to where he is today without hard work, however, and spent numerous spells away from White Hart Lane on loan during the early stages of his career, including a four month stint with the Lions in 2012, where he scored nine goals in 27 outings.
And the England international credited his time with Millwall as one of the main contributing factors behind his progression to the levels he has reached today, as quoted by the Mirror:

“It was big part of my development. I had a great time at Millwall, I enjoyed my loan spell there. I was 18 at the time, playing in the Championship, we were in a relegation battle and it really turned me into a man.”
Kane has undoubtedly proven that he is not only incredibly talented, but that he also has the stomach for the fight over the past couple of years.
The more negative attention he gets, and the more criticism he receives, the stronger he becomes, and Spurs fans might have Millwall to thank for the part they played in developing Kane when he was just a teenager.
