Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Steven Bergwijn in the January transfer window despite interest from Ajax, according to The Express.
The Express have reported today that Bergwijn is now expected to stay at Tottenham until the end of the season at least.
Ajax made a bid of £15 million for the Netherlands international winger earlier in the window, but it got rejected.
The report has claimed that the Dutch giants could make a new and improved offer, but it is likely to be turned down.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter on January 9, 2022 that Spurs have decided to sell Bergwijn, who joined the North London club from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020 for £27 million (BBC Sport).
The report in The Express today indicates that Tottenham have made a U-turn over the future of Bergwijn.

Sensible Tottenham stance on Steven Bergwijn
In our view, it is sensible of Tottenham not to offload Bergwijn in the January transfer window.
Tottenham are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four this season, and Conte needs a big squad.
Bergwijn is a winger by trade, but Spurs head coach Conte has said that he believes that the 24-year-old can play as a striker.
The former PSV star came off the bench to score two late goals against Leicester City in the Premier League last week and played well against Chelsea in the London derby this past weekend.
