Tottenham want Stefan de Vrij and he could be tempted by a move to North London in order to rejoin Antonio Conte.
Conte certainly likes to sign players he has worked with at previous clubs.
Arturo Vidal, Victor Moses and Alvaro Morata have all worked with Conte at multiple clubs now, seemingly earning the Italian’s respect.
Ivan Perisic can now be added to that list having left Inter Milan for Tottenham this past summer – and there could be another addition to the list next summer.

Tottenham want Stefan de Vrij
That’s right, Stefan de Vrij is yet again being linked with a move to join Tottenham.
It feels like the Dutchman has been touted for a move to North London ever since Conte secured his move to Tottenham.
This time it’s L’Interista making the claims, stating that Tottenham have made contact with De Vrij’s representatives.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and now looks set to leave Inter.
It could be a cheap deal in January or a free transfer move in the summer – just like Ivan Perisic – with Tottenham eyeing a bargain raid.
De Vrij was a key part of Conte’s title-winning Inter side and a reunion could appeal to the former Lazio defender.
Speaking in December 2021, De Vrij hailed Conte as a manager who has ‘always won’ during his career.
Earlier in 2021, De Vrij hailed Conte as ‘passionate and demanding’, adding that you understand his success as soon as you work with him.
It’s clear that De Vrij absolutely loves Conte and the chance to play for him again would surely appeal.
De Vrij’s age means he wouldn’t exactly be a long-term solution for Tottenham at the back, but if he can come in with an immediate impact and an understanding of Conte’s methods – just like Perisic – then this move could work out well for Spurs.
