Tottenham Hotspur have said they are open to the introduction of safe standing at their new stadium.
Scottish champions Celtic trialled a safe standing scheme successfully last season and now English Premier League clubs are being urged to do the same by supporters groups.

The Mail report the Premier League have written to clubs to try and gauge their interest.
Standing areas have been outlawed in English football’s top two divisions since the tragic Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
Tottenham are among the teams interested, and issued a comment via a spokesperson confirming so.
The Mail report their statement: “We have consistently said that we would be open to investigating the opportunity to incorporate safe standing within our new stadium should legislation and licencing permit this.”
Liverpool remain vehemently opposed to any introduction of safe standing.

Spurs will play at Wembley next season before moving into their new ground in 2018/19.
No Premier League teams are expected to be able to push forward with the introduction of safe standing next season, but the success of Celtic’s section has put it back on the agenda and it may not be too long until English football follows suit.
