Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Barcelona in their latest UEFA Youth League clash, with Rodel Richards scoring Spurs’ goal.

Rodel Richards may have had to wait for his chance to make an impact for Tottenham’s youngsters this season, but he is certainly making up for lost time with his form upon his return from injury.
Ahead of the first-team’s clash with Barcelona at Wembley on Wednesday, the under-19s met the same opposition at Tottenham’s training ground in the UEFA Youth League.
And after going a goal down to the Catalan side, it was Richards who got Spurs back on level terms with a fantastically well-taken goal just before the break.
The 18-year-old received the ball with his back to goal 12 yards out before turning the defender and finding the top corner with an excellent finish. It was a positive performance from Spurs as the sides played out a goalless second-half.

Richards has taken his tally to three goals in his last two games following a brace against West Ham towards the end of last month. And his form will delight the Spurs coaches who would have been hugely disappointed to lose Reo Griffiths in the summer.
Richards is going to have to go a long way to make up for Griffiths’ departure, but his form in his first few appearances of the season certainly suggests that he is going to be the academy player to keep an eye on this term.
