Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is renowned for pushing his players to the limit during training.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media during the aftermath of his side’s impressive 3-2 win over Everton yesterday, and raved about the performance of Harry Kane, highlighting the hard work that the striker puts in behind the scenes as a main reason for his success, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old has been in sensational form for Tottenham all season, despite missing six weeks due to a serious ankle injury earlier on in the campaign, and has scored 24 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions thus far.

And Pochettino told reporters how hard Kane works between matches, jokingly suggesting that the England international would end up fat like himself if he didn’t work as hard as he does, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

“I think he is fresh because he trains a lot. He makes a lot of double sessions and he is very professional. If you are asleep and you eat and you forget to train, maybe you are fat, like me! And you cannot run. I think it’s about being consistent and training. He is very focused now in training and in taking care of himself and you can see how he is.”

The Lilywhites now sit just seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea – who don’t play until tonight, and they must be considered as genuine challengers to Antonio Conte’s side.

And considering that Pochettino’s men have played every side currently inside the top half of the table away from home, they surely have their best chance of winning their first league title since 1961.
