Spurs product Winks has been suffering with a long-term ankle injury.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has posted an update on Instagram after Spurs’ squad returned to pre-season training on Monday as he looks to overcome his long-term ankle woes – and Everton’s Yannick Bolasie replied.
The 22-year-old has already suffered more than his fair share of injuries during his short career, failing to feature for Spurs in the Premier League since December 2017.
But Winks will have buoyed Tottenham fans by informing the north Londoners that he is “working hard on getting back fit” ahead of the 2018-19 campaign which begins on August 11 away at Newcastle United.
A one-time England international, Winks looked to be a contender for a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad this summer but his injury prevented him from showcasing his talent.
He has since made 61 appearances for Spurs in all competitions after Mauricio Pochettino handed the impressive midfielder his debut back in November 2014 as an 18-year-old against Partizan Belgrade.
Somewhat surprisingly, Everton winger Bolasie replied to Winks on Instagram, commenting: “man like Winks”, perhaps holding some admiration for the Spurs star after suffering with a long-term knee injury of his own recently.
