Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama has hailed Celtic defender Efe Ambrose.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that he thinks Celtic’s Efe Ambrose is one of the best defenders he’s played with.
Wanyama, 25, has impressed for Tottenham this season, playing a key role in heart of midfielder for Mauricio Pochettino’s men ever since arriving from Southampton over the summer.

However, one player not enjoying such a fine season is Celtic defender Efe Ambrose, who played alongside Wanyama for the Bhoys during the 2012-13 season.
Ambrose, 28, has played more than 150 times for Celtic since arriving from Israeli side Ashdod in the summer of 2012, but has become an outcast under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.
The error-prone Nigerian international has played just twice for Celtic since Rodgers arrived as manager in May, and both came in Champions League qualifiers against Lincoln Red Imps and Astana back in July.

With no games played for almost five months, Ambrose appears to have no future at Celtic, as he’s behind the likes of Erik Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Kolo Toure in the pecking order at Celtic Park.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Ambrose is set to leave Celtic in January as Rodgers looks to adjust his squad, with the Daily Record noting that he was going on trial with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now, former team-mate Wanyama has made a bizarre claim about Ambrose, suggesting that he’s one of the best defenders he has played with – despite playing with the likes of Jose Fonte, Dejan Lovren, Toby Alderweireld, Virgil van Dijk and Jan Vertonghen in the Premier League.
“Efe Ambrose is not just a nice guy off the pitch, but a very solid man on the pitch as well,” said Wanyama. “He is one of the finest defenders I have played with,” he added.
