Tottenham Hotspur ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Southampton last night.

Spurs star Dele Alli joked with Harry Kane after his penalty miss during their 4-1 win at Southampton yesterday, and quipped how he now finally ‘has something’ on his teammate, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The 23-year-old striker is usually as dependable as they come from the spot, but blazed over the bar last night, as the turf gave way beneath him.

And Alli explained how he and his teammates never expect the England international to miss from 12 years, and that he now has ammunition in the banter stakes with Kane, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“Look, he’s a fantastic striker, he puts them away all the time in training and in the other games so you always back him to put them away and when he doesn’t it’s a surprise and that just shows the player he is – you never expect him to miss. Finally, I’ve got something on him!”

In all fairness to Kane, Tottenham have looked liked a different team all together since he returned from his six week spell on the sidelines, and his eight goals in 10 appearances since he has been back has helped his club steady their stuttering campaign.

Spurs travel to Watford on New Year’s Day before they host Chelsea in what is a must win game for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

And they will need Kane to be firing on all cylinders if they are to have any chance of victory.
