Tottenham Hotspur star Kieran Trippier is slowly starting to show his true ability.
Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier in action
Spurs full-back Kieran Tripper sat down for an exclusive interview with NewsWeek, and opened up on his relationship with teammate Kyle Walker.
The 26-year-old former Burnley man has played in Tottenham’s last five games, starting three of those matches, and has really impressed, proving that he is easily capable of filling in for the England international.
Trippier is at the age now where he absolutely has to be playing regular first-team football, for the good of his career and his prospects of playing for England.
But with Walker in front of him, that will be easier said than done.
And the Spurs right-back lifted the lid on the relationship he shares with the former Sheffield United man, during an exclusive interview with NewsWeek, highlighting how they bounce off of each other:
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino with Kyle Walker
“We bounce off each other and, most importantly, we get on. We played for England at a younger age together, and we have known each other for a long time. All I can do is try and keep doing my best in training and games.”
Tottenham face crucial games against Chelsea in the FA Cup and Arsenal in the Premier League over the next few weeks, and quite how much Pochettino trusts Tripper will be highlighted by his team selection for those clashes.
And if he fails to make the right-back spot his own over the next 12 months, he will surely look for a move away from Spurs, if he wants to truly fulfil his potential.
