Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign a single player this summer.
Tottenham villain Moussa Sissoko responded to a fan on Instagram when asked whether he and his teammates were angry at the club’s lack of transfer activity this summer, insisting that he has 100 per cent belief and trust in the players currently at the club.
The 28-year-old joined Spurs from Newcastle in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £30 million, but he has desperately failed to establish himself in north London, scoring just one Premier League goal for the club.
Many Tottenham fans expected new blood to be brought into the club this summer, with Sissoko being sold on, but neither of those things materialised.
And the Frenchman gave a short and sweet response to a fan who asked him whether he and his teammates were angry with the fact that Mauricio Pochettino failed to bring in a single new signing this summer:
“No because we all believe in this team.”
Poch does still have one of the strongest first XI’s available to him, but Spurs will be in serious trouble should they lose one or two of their key players for a sustained period of time.
And only time will tell whether or not their lack of transfer activity will cost them a place inside the top four this season.
