Tottenham goalkeeper wanted Arsenal in the EFL Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has told TalkSport he and his teammates wanted to draw Arsenal in the EFL Cup.
Speaking after the club’s 5-0 win over Gillingham last night, Vorm said the prospect of a North London derby tie was one the team were excited for.

He explained that they watched the draw together, but ultimately were not disappointed to land a big tie against Liverpool.
Vorm said: “It was quite funny, because we were watching the draw together, and we saw Man United v Man City and West Ham v Chelsea.
“Then Arsenal came out and we hoped we’d play them! But Liverpool away is a great game – it’s always good to play against big teams. So I’m looking forward to it!”

Arsenal instead landed a home draw against Reading, given them a strong chance of progression, and if Tottenham can knock off Liverpool at Anfield – no easy feat – then they have a chance of facing Arsenal in the next round instead.
Vorm, who started last night’s game, deputising for Hugo Lloris, has extra reason to have wanted to face the Gunners, as he did not play against them in the Premier League last season.
He did keep goal last season when Spurs lost to Arsenal in the League Cup, a 2-1 win with Mathieu Flamini surprisingly scoring twice.
