Tottenham star Lucas Moura shared how difficult the last 12 months have been for him, during an exclusive interview with the club’s match-day programme, and quoted via Football.London.
Spurs signed the 26-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain in January of this year, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25 million, but he took his time to settle in north London.
Lucas had been jettisoned from PSG’s starting XI for the last six or seven months of his time with the French champions, and a move to Tottenham was expected to re-energise his flagging career.
The Brazilian explained how hard the last year has been for him, however, during an exclusive interview with the club’s match-day programme, and quoted via Football.London:
“The first six months for me to adapt with my new team and to my new life in England in another league, to get to know the players and the staff and to understand what the coach wants from me. The last seven months in Paris were so, so difficult and then the six months here in a new life, to get to know people, to learn a new language. It has been tough.”
Lucas has chalked up three goals in five Premier League games so far this season, and if Tottenham are to have any chance of winning the league this season, the 26-year-old will have to be at his very best between now and May.
