Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker has been superb throughout the course of this season.

During an interview with the club’s official website, Spurs full-back Kyle Walker shared an area of his game that he has been working particularly hard on this season.

The 26-year-old has been in sensational form for Tottenham so far this term, with his lung-busting displays down the right flank typifying the way in which Mauricio Pochettino expects his side to operate.

And Walker explained how Spurs’ defence-minded midfielders, such as Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama, give him the license to bomb forward, and influence the game more from an attacking perspective, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“It’s great, I’ve got the insurance behind me of Eric Dier and Victor, who I think has been a fantastic signing to balance it all up, and it’s great to be able to get forward and show what I can do further up the pitch. It’s nice to get a few more assists, that’s something I’m working on.”

Walker has played 20 Premier League games for Tottenham this season, and registered five assists – already more than he has contributed during any season that he has been with the club.

The Lilywhites currently sit in second position in the Premier League table, seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and if they are to close the gap on the Blues, they will need Walker to remain at the top of his game, both defensively and from an attacking perspective.
