Wolves and Everton have both been linked to the Manchester United defender.

Juan Foyth’s incredible month has seen him prove his quality for both Tottenham Hotspur and Argentina.

The 20-year-old defender was named man-of-the-match for Argentina in their 2-0 win over Mexico.

Foyth is being held up as part of Argentina’s new generation, after an underwhelming World Cup campaign.

One of Argentina’s better World Cup performers was Marcos Rojo, who was not included in their latest squad.

Rojo is 28 and has played in both recent World Cups for Argentina, and risks being phased out.

His Premier League season has been hit by injury, but now fit again, Manchester United are in no rush to put him back into their team despite their defensive problems.

Rojo appears more likely to leave United than to stay. The Telegraph reported last week the Red Devils are open to a sale.

Everton [via Metro] and Wolves [via Birmingham Mail] are both claimed to be keen on Rojo.

The way Foyth has burst onto the scene for Argentina means Rojo can’t afford to spend the rest of the season on United’s bench.

Rojo will want to make Argentina’s squad for next summer’s Copa America, and will feel that at 28, he is too young to be phased out yet.

As much as he may want to stay and fight for his place at United, it makes more sense that he pushes to leave.
