Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose is very close to Mauricio Pochettino, according to teammate Dele Alli.

Spurs star Dele Alli shared how he and the rest of the squad call teammate Danny Rose the ‘teacher’s pet’, due to his close relationship with Mauricio Pochettino, when speaking to Soccer AM’s official YouTube channel.

The 20-year-old midfielder is currently out injured, and his perfectly timed runs into the opposition box will surely be missed by a Tottenham team who are really struggling to score goals at the moment.

Alli took part in a question and answer session for Soccer AM via their official YouTube channel, and discussed Rose’s relationship with Pochettino, joking that the pair probably watch box-sets together:

“Danny Rose is the teacher’s pet, I don’t know if he seriously is but we all have a joke with him and call him the gaffer’s son. He [Rose] probably watches box-sets with the manager. It’s where they have their bonding time!”

Rose, 26, has been an integral part of Pochettino’s plans so far this season, appearing in eight games for Tottenham.

He has now fully developed into the quintessential modern-day full-back and, with everything that that entails, the manner in which he operates has become integral to Pochettino’s preferred style of football.

Alli is equally as important to the Spurs side, and the Tottenham fans will be hoping that he is back sooner rather than later, as their side look to mount the sustained title challenge that is expected of them.
