Tottenham Hotspur ace Jan Vertonghen was impressed with Everton.

Tottenham edged a 3-2 win over Everton at the weekend and despite the home side picking up all three points, Jan Vertonghen was impressed with the calibre of their opponents.
Speaking to Tottenham’s website after the game, Vertonghen labelled Everton ‘great’.
Vertonghen said: “Everton are a great team. They bought some great players in the window and look like a very strong team.
“We said before the game that if we could win this one it would be a very big win and for me, they are a team that can beat the big teams.”
Everton recently demolished Manchester City 4-0, a result which demonstrated their capability to mix it with the big guns.
The Toffees are currently in seventh position, and it is a big ask for them to improve on this, as they are five points behind sixth placed Manchester United, having played a game more.
Everton were undone by individual errors at the weekend, with Tottenham expertly taking advantage.
Their win ensured they remain in second position, but not many teams score twice against Tottenham’s mean defence at White Hart Lane, and it is easy to see why Vertonghen was impressed.
