The Tottenham Hotspur forward has been in exceptional form this season.

Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son spoke to the club’s official match-day programme for an exclusive interview, and suggested that he did not expect to enjoy such a good season this term, having been away on international duty with South Korea twice over the past nine months, as quoted by Football.London.

The 26-year-old has been quite simply brilliant for Spurs this season, racking up an impressive 20 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions thus far, and he has proven to be a vitally important player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, especially during Harry Kane’s absence.

The South Korea international is always full of energy, and he provides Tottenham with a threat in behind the opposition’s defence – something that they do not possess when he isn’t playing.

Son told Sunday’s match-day programme how his form this season has taken hm by surprise, however, as quoted by Football.London:

”I didn’t expect it to go so well this season, especially as I went away twice with the national team in the middle of it for what were very important tournaments for the team. It meant I missed a few games for Spurs because of that and I feel very sorry because when I left, it was during a very important time for the club as well.”

Tottenham finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table this term, but their season is far from over, with a Champions League final against Liverpool to look forward to on June 1st, and Son will surely have a key role to play for his side once again, if they are to have any chance of leaving Madrid with the trophy.
