Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and raved about the quality of his teammate Davinson Sanchez, highlighting how quickly the Colombian has adapted to life in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £42 million, according to the Guardian, and he has gone on to really impress for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Colombia international’s performances were of such high standard that he actually usurped Toby Alderweireld at the heart of Tottenham’s defence for a sustained period of time.

He mad 41 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites, and he showcased just how much talent he has.

Son spoke exclusively to the club’s official website about how quickly Sanchez adapted to the Premier League, suggesting that it is unbelievable how much he improved as a player:

South Korea's Son Heung-Min (C) celebrates his second goal against Colombia during their friendly football match in Suwon on November 10, 2017.

“Davinson has done very well for us because he’s young in the Premier League but has still been very important. You know, I can remember my first experiences of the Premier League (early in the 2015-16 season) and how difficult it was but he’s done very well. He’s young, quick and has improved. He’s already even better than when he joined – it’s unbelievable how much he’s improved. You can see that he’s young, hungry and always smiling. He’s a really good guy and I’m really happy to have such a guy as my team-mate.”

Sanchez’s fine displays for Tottenham this season will have put Spurs fans at ease, especially with Toby Alderweireld facing an uncertain future in north London.

The scary thing regarding the centre-back’s ability is that he arguably still has another nine years before he even reaches his peak for a central defender.

And if he continues to improve, £42 million will begin to look like a real steal.
