The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder made his return to action at the weekend.

Tottenham star Harry Winks spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared how hard he has worked to return to full fitness, after coming on as an 89th minute substitute against Fulham on Saturday, having not played since February.

The 22-year-old is a real talent, and he has flourished over the past 12 months or so under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, so last season’s injury would have been particularly hard to stomach for the young midfield ace.

Winks will surely have an important role to play for Spurs this season, considering the fact that Pochettino failed to bolster his ranks during the summer transfer window, and he will be delighted to be back fit and in contention for games.

The young Englishman spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared how hard he has worked to get back to a level where he is ready to play regularly again for Tottenham:

“I’m feeling good, feeling fit. My ankle is feeling strong at the moment which is good so as long as I manage it well and stay on top of it relentlessly, which I will do, then everything should be all good. It’s horrible being injured. Speak to any footballer when they’re injured, watching the game and not playing – it’s the worst thing but it’s part of football, part of the game and you’ve got to deal with it. Whatever happens in the game, it’s the way you bounce back and hopefully it’s going to be a fresh and very good season for me.”

Next up for Tottenham is a vital trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, and Winks will be hoping for another chance to prove that he is 100 per cent ready to perform at the very highest level this season.
