The Tottenham Hotspur ace has been in great form this season.

When speaking to reporters, Tottenham ace Harry Winks admitted that he has been playing with a niggling ankle injury recently, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old has really risen to prominence at Spurs this season, and he has proven to be a vital player for Mauricio Pochettino, especially with injuries to the likes of Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama, combined with Mousa Dembele’s exit to China.

Winks really is a top class performer. He oozes quality, and is a classy operator when in possession.

The Enlgand international has already drawn comparisons with Italian legend Andrea Pirlo, and if he goes on to achieve even half of what the 39-year-old has during his career, he will surely go on to become at Tottenham legend.

The Tottenham ace isn’t all just about silky skills and pinpoint passing, however. He is also a tough competitor.

Winks told reporters how he has been playing though the pain barrier of late, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

“I have played a lot of matches, which is what I wanted and hopefully fingers crossed I will stay injury free. It has been everything I wanted since the beginning of the season. I still have niggles here and there in my ankle which I am managing to play with. I have managed to somehow put that to the back of my mind and not focus on it much and probably not worry or overthink as much as I should have.”

Tottenham currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table, just four points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, and if Winks continues to impress, they will have every chance of ending their 58-year wait for a top flight title this season.
