West Ham produced a stunning second-leg performance to knock Lyon out and enter the Europa League semi-finals – and French outlet GFFN have handed Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele a 3/10 rating for his display.
Ndombele, 25, joined Lyon on loan in January and Thursday night was his 11th appearance – since returning to Peter Bosz’s side, having joined Spurs from Lyon. But it has not gone to plan for the big-money France talent.
With the aggregate score reading 1-1 but away goals not counting, West Ham simply had to beat Lyon – and they did that, with aplomb. Goals from Craig Dawson, Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen got the goals in France.
A brilliant performance from West Ham – but a stark contrast from Lyon and Ndombele. GFFN have handed Ndombele a 3/10 display, branding his performance as both “erratic” and “uncertain” as West Ham go through.
“Erratic on the ball and often uncertain positionally, he was subbed at half time after running the first leg with West Ham down to ten men. This was a low point of his second spell at OL,” GFFN report, on Thursday night.

A report from CalcioMercato claimed on Thursday that Lyon have decided not to extend his loan stay at Lyon – or sign him permanently, with the clause in the deal worth £54million. He will return to Spurs in the summer.
But the chances of him having a future at Spurs are almost zero. Antonio Conte prefers defensive-minded midfielders – and his reaction in an FA Cup clash against Morecambe was poor. He will be sold, or go on loan again.
