Tottenham star Dele Alli spoke exclusively to the club’s official website in the aftermath of signing a new long-term deal with the club, and expressed his gratitude for playing for a manger like Mauricio Pochettino, suggesting that it is difficult not to improve under the Argentine.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs from MK Dons in January 2015, for a fee of just £5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best players, chalking up an impressive 48 goals and 41 assists in 153 appearances in all competitions in the process.

The real challenge for the England international will be to win some major honours with Tottenham – something that the north London outfit have failed to do since 2008.

Dele sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and highlighted how he believes he is in the right place to improve as a player:

“The manager, the players, the staff here… it would be difficult for me not to improve. I’ll keep working hard every day and keep listening to the manager. Every player wants to start winning things and hopefully we can do that here.”

Tottenham currently sit five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table, and if they are to have any chance whatsoever of winning the league this season, Dele will have to be at his very best between now and the end of the season.
