Tottenham Hotspur have not won a major trophy since 2008.

Tottenham ace Davinson Sanchez sat down for an exclusive interview with the Mirror, and admitted how painful it was for him and his teammates to lose out to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final last month.
Spurs have already been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions, but they remain very much in the race for the Premier League title, and have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino seems to be building something very special at Tottenham, and it would be no surprise to see them end their 11-year wait for a major trophy this season, although they will have to be on their very best form to have any chance whatsoever of doing just that.
The Carabao Cup probably represented their best chance to win a trophy, so it is no surprise that Sanchez admitted that his side’s cup exit to their bitter rivals Chelsea was extremely painful, as quoted by the Mirror:

“It’s always painful to be so close to the final, to be so close to being in with a shot at the trophy and to miss out on that. Of course to be so close to winning and to leave empty handed was very painful.”
Tottenham travel to Burnley this afternoon, and a win would take to within just two points of the league leaders Manchester City.
And what better way to banish the memory of crashing out of the Carabao Cup than by winning the Premier League title.
