Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier has been impressing in recent weeks.
Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier is congratulated by manager Mauricio Pochettino as he is substituted
Kieran Trippier is making a case to become Tottenham’s number one right-back and appears to have the trust of Mauricio Pochettino.
He was selected to start recent matches against Chelsea and Arsenal, keeping a clean sheet in the latter.
Against the Gunners he really could not have done much more, matched up against superstar Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean barely got a look in, and Spurs star Ben Davies has praised Trippier’s performance.

He told Tottenham’s official website: “I think he’s been excellent.
“There’s a lot of full-backs in this league who’ve had a tough time against Alexis Sanchez and on Sunday I thought Trips marked him out of the game.
“We think he’s a top, top player and if he comes into the side or whoever the manager picks to start, it doesn’t make a difference to the way we expect to play.”
Kyle Walker is generally thought of as Tottenham’s first choice, but was left disgruntled after being left out of the FA Cup semi-final.
Tottenham’s Kyle Walker looks dejected
The Sun report Walker’s relationship with head coach Mauricio Pochettino has soured and is almost untenable.
At this crucial stage of the season with Spurs in a title race, such a drama could be hugely damaging.
Trippier’s impressive form allows Tottenham to sweep it aside, and his performance against the Gunners in shutting down Sanchez could help the club’s decision over Walker become a lot easier in the summer.
