Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose’s season has not gone as planned.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose had a 2017 to forget after injury stopped his momentum in his tracks.

He had transformed his career under Mauricio Pochettino and become an elite part of Tottenham’s team, a must start player.

His place as England’s starter at the World Cup is in doubt so much that he is questionable to even make the squad.

Rose has lost his place to Ben Davies due to injury and the Welshman’s form, and he has been picking up the leftovers in terms of available games, like featuring away to Rochdale in the cup.

While in time Rose can get back to his best, reports linking Tottenham to Ryan Sessegnon suggest he should fear for his future.

Sessegnon is England’s most exciting youngster and his ability to play at left-back and on the wing makes him ideally suited for Tottenham’s wing-back position.

The Telegraph report Spurs are eyeing a £35 million bid for Sessegnon, a sign they see Danny Rose as completely replaceable.

Time is fast running out this season for Rose to establish himself ahead of Davies and cause Tottenham to change course.

After his outburst on the eve of the season slamming Tottenham’s wage structure, many would say his situation is just desserts.

The problem for Rose is that Tottenham’s asking price is likely to deter clubs from paying up for him unless they drop it, leaving the 27-year-old stuck in limbo.
