Christian Eriksen hasn’t been at his best for Premier League Spurs for a while now – and he struggled during the Euro 2020 qualifier in Georgia.

Things change quickly in football.
Just three days after Christian Eriksen inspired Denmark to a 6-0 thrashing of Gibraltar with two goals and a glorious assist, the Tottenham Hotspur talisman was far from his best in a potentially damaging goalless draw in Georgia.
Switzerland are now just a point behind The Danes in their Euro 2020 qualifying group and, crucially, they have a game in hand too ahead of October’s crunch clash.
So no wonder Eriksen was left kicking himself after failing to fire his side past a limited Georgian outfit.
“There’s pressure on me because I have the position that I have and I have become the player I am,” said a clearly frustrated Eriksen after the game, speaking to TV2.
“It’s about being important with an assist or goal and being able to decide matches. It has happened on many other matches, but unfortunately it did not happen this time.”

Eriksen has 29 goals in 90 games for his country but he missed a number of chances to draw level with Nicklas Bendtner in the all-time scoring charts on Sunday. The former Ajax star missed a host of presentable chances as Denmark were forced to settle for the most avoidable of draws.
With Erisken’s long-term future still very much uncertain, Spurs fans would have been hoping that he would return from the international break refreshed and rejuvenated after a difficult couple of months on and off the pitch.
But Eriksen clearly has a long way to go before he gets back to his very best.
