Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been on fire over the past three seasons.

Popular bookmakers SkyBET have listed Spurs striker Harry Kane at 10/1 to beat Alan Shearer’s long-standing record of 260 Premier League goals.

The Tottenham man has been nothing short of sensational for the Lilywhites over the last three campaigns, averaging 25 goals per season in the Premier League.

He notched up 29 strikes for Mauricio Pochettino’s men last term, a tally made all the more impressive when it is considered that he missed around two months of action due to two separate injuries.

And the odds of 10/1 offered by SkyBET on Kane beating Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record seem rather generous, when the former Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United striker’s record when he was the same age as the Spurs man is taken into account.

The 46-year-old former Three Lions international had scored 47 goals in England’s top flight when he was 23 – a staggering 31 shy of Kane’s current total.

The Tottenham star will have to maintain his incredible goalscoring ratio if he wants to remain on track to beat Shearer’s record. Following the Geordie legend’s 24th birthday, he scored 90 Premier League goals over the course of three seasons.

If Kane remains injury free though, he has every chance of usurping Shearer, and becoming a true legend within the game.
