Spurs will be able to welcome back one of their summer signings after the international break.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted to Foot Mercato that it has been “very frustrating” not to be able to play a part in the club’s last two Premier League games.
Sissoko, a £30 million summer signing from relegated Newcastle United, has been forced to sit out league action since his suspension for catching Bournemouth star Harry Arter with his elbow on 22 October.
In the absence of the France international, Spurs lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the EFL Cup and shared 1-1 draws with last season’s champions Leicester City and arch-rivals Arsenal.
The 27-year-old was able to return for last week’s Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, but he now has to wait another fortnight before he can return top domestic action due to the international break.
Sissoko admitted that it has been extremely frustrating to have to watch on from the sidelines, but insisted that he will be fit and ready to return to league action later this month.
He told Foot Mercato: “It was very frustrating not being able to participate in the last three league games. Even the last match against Arsenal which was the big derby. Today that is in the past.
“I’m trying to concentrate on our upcoming matches. When I return I will be fit to play. It will be up to me to give everything to make the best possible results.”
Sissoko has shown glimpses of his talent since his protracted move to Spurs this summer, but has yet to really hit the heights that he showed for the home country at Euro 2016.
Spurs fans will be hoping that he uses his return from suspension as motivation to kick on when domestic action recommences.
