The Tottenham Hotspur squad have really been stretched over the past two two months.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, after his side’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Newcastle United, and shared how he now intends to give every player two days off, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs have played 18 games since December 2nd, and with a relatively small squad, Pochettino must be sensible in the manner in which he manages the fitness of his players.

The Lilywhites now sit just four points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, although they have played a game more than Jürgen Klopp’s side, but they are very much in the title race nonetheless.

Pochettino will be hoping that he doesn’t lose any more players to injury between now and the end of the season, and he told reporters how he plans to give his squad a much-needed two day rest, following their win over Newcastle yesterday, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes, now he’s (Son) going to have two days off, but all of the squad, not only him.”

Tottenham have some vitally important games on the horizon, with clashes with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and matches against Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League all to come within the next month.

So giving his Spurs squad two days off could prove to be a really wise decision.
