The German would be a fantastic addition to the Tottenham Hotspur squad.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino faces a huge task ahead of him, as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours on all fronts next season.
Tottenham enjoyed a successful Premier League campaign this term, but fell at the final hurdle, as Chelsea eventually ran away as comfortable champions.
One particular area of the Lilywhites squad that undoubtedly needs addressing is the wide attacking positions, with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou failing to impress since his summer switch and Erik Lamela’s future at the club far from certain.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt in action
With this in mind, a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s talented youngster Julian Brandt could be an interesting option for the Argentine.
The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s hottest prospects, after enjoying a fine campaign with the Bundesliga outfit, registering eight assists and three goals in 32 league outings for his club.
The young forward can play anywhere along the front-line, and would be an archetypal Pochettino signing. He is incredibly quick, and plays with a certain level of maturity that defies his tender years.

His quality is underlined by the fact that he already has five international caps for Germany under his belt, and if he continues to improve, he will surely become a first-team regular in the national side.
Brandt would be an undoubted upgrade on most of the options currently available to Pochettino, and his direct playing style and exuberance of youth could prove to be a major asset to Tottenham next term.
He is under contract for another two years at the BayArena, so it will take a fairly hefty offer from Spurs to tempt the German club into selling, but Daniel Levy and co should make the signing of Brandt their priority, as they look to head into a new era of success.
