Tottenham Hotspur should challenge Liverpool for the Stoke City ace.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Liverpool have opened talks to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, but Tottenham should attempt to hijack the Reds’ move for the Swiss star.
The 26-year-old joined the Potters from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, and he has gone on to chalk up 15 goals and 15 assists in 92 appearances in all competitions.
Shaqiri will surely flourish and improve upon that attacking output when surrounded by better players, and he would be the ideal fit for Spurs.

Tottenham lack balance in the attacking department sometimes, with only Erik Lamela providing them with a left-footed option, and taking the Argentine’s injury problems into account, the Switzerland international would surely prove to be a real asset for the Lilywhites.
Sky Sports claim that Shaqiri has a £13.5 million buy-out clause inserted into his current contract with Stoke, and there is nothing that Daniel Levy likes more than a good old fashioned bargain.
This season’s race for the Premier League title will be an extremely tight one, and Tottenham could steal a real march on Liverpool by beating the Merseysiders to the signing of the mercurial Swiss winger.
