Harry Kane has been linked with a sensational £177 million move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid.
Following Harry Kane’s sensational September, it is absolutely no surprise that he is being talked about as a potential target for the Galatico-collecting Real Madrid.
Don Balon recently suggested that Los Blancos are considering making a £177 million bid for the Tottenham talisman, who has scored 11 in his last six for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Given how difficult it would be to replace Kane – if it is even possible – there are a number of reasons why Daniel Levy should ignore any bids that come from the Bernabeu in the near future.
And one particular reason that Tottenham should forget about selling Kane to Madrid for any price is that it would surely scupper any chance of Spurs landing Gareth Bale anytime soon.
Since Bale left for Spain in 2013, a potential return has been discussed amongst supporters as something of a dream scenario.
The Welshman has not been replaced since leaving four years ago and Spurs fans would undoubtedly be forgiven for feeling that he is the final piece in the jigsaw that is preventing them from winning the haul of trophies their side deserve.
But surely Bale would have little desire to return while he still has some of his best years in him if Tottenham decide to sell Kane.
The 28-year-old has won everything in Spain, including three Champions League medals, and he would be forgiven for only wanting to leave the Bernabeu for a club that has a chance of winning silverware.
And while a Tottenham side that includes Bale would have a great chance of winning trophies, those chances would surely be significantly reduced again if they decided to cash in on Kane, and thus, convincing Bale to return when they have sold their current star player would surely be a big ask for Levy.
