Arsenal need Jean-Michael Seri far more than Tottenham do.
Arsenal and Tottenham are both competing to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to France Football.
Of the two teams it is Arsenal who appear to be doing most of the running at present, with The Mirror writing that the Gunners lead the race.
Yet as France Football write, Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of the Ivory Coast international’s versatility, despite his £35 million release clause.

Seri scored nine goals and provided seven assists last season as he helped unfancied Nice finish third in Ligue 1.
There is good reason for Arsenal to be interested. Behind Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey, their midfield poses more questions than it answers.
Francis Coquelin took a backwards step last season, and even Ramsey was inconsistent at times. Jack Wilshere remains an enigma.
Santi Cazorla appears perpetually injured with no comeback imminent, and Mohamed Elneny could be sold to Galatasary, The Sun report.
So despite having the numbers, Arsenal could then desperately use the energy Seri could bring to the side and the added competition, with questions hanging over several of their options.

Tottenham meanwhile are blessed with options in the middle, with youngster Harry Winks adding competition to a team which already boasts Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and can afford to cast aside Moussa Sissoko.
Signing Seri would be a serious power play from Spurs, and strengthen an already dominant position.
Arsenal may be left wondering just how they can catch up with a team which finished 11 points above them last season if Pochettino’s Tottenham win the race for in demand Seri.
