There have been suggestions that Tottenham could recall the on loan defender.

With Toby Alderweireld ruled out until February, there have been suggestions that Tottenham Hotspur could recall Cameron Carter-Vickers from his loan spell at Sheffield United to bolster their defensive resources.
Tottenham have the option of bringing Carter-Vickers back in January, but, as reported by the Daily Mail, head coach Mauricio Pochettino would prefer for the youngster to keep developing out on loan.
That certainly appears to be the best approach. Carter-Vickers has made 13 Championship appearances for Sheffield United this season and playing regularly in a competitive division is undoubtedly hugely beneficial for his development.

Strong physically and also composed in possession, Carter-Vickers is an exciting prospect but if he was to return to Tottenham next month the likelihood is that he wouldn’t receive much playing time for Pochettino’s team.
Next season, off the back of a full campaign of development in the Championship, the youngster would be better equipped to stake a claim for more regular involvement in the Tottenham side, perhaps ahead of Juan Foyth, who could go out on loan himself.

A United States international, Carter-Vickers has so far only made four competitive appearances for Tottenham, all of which have come in cup competitions. To have a chance of being involved in the Premier League, he should bide his time and wait for next season.
