The Austrian is set to leave and former club FC Koln would love to take him back.
Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer looks dejected
The London Evening Standard has reported this week that Spurs have decided Hull City defender Harry Maguire is the first-choice target for Spurs at the back, ahead of Michael Keane and Ben Gibson of Burnley and Middlesbrough respectively.
The report also stated that the club’s Austrian centre-back Kevin Wimmer is set to leave after falling down the pecking order this term.
Spurs will have plenty of suitors for the player, with one of them likely to be his former club FC Koln.
If that is the case, then Tottenham should use Wimmer to get hold of a star striking option.
Anthony Modeste, who once had a horror spell on loan at Blackburn Rovers, has thrived in German football and this term has 25 goals in 33 games for Koln.

He is reportedly wanted by plenty of Premier League teams already this summer, with talkSPORT reporting that the striker will cost at least £25 million this summer.
Tottenham have struggled with strikers this season. Vincent Janssen has failed to be an able replacement for Harry Kane when called upon and Modeste could be another option.
With Wimmer involved in a deal, they could shave plenty off of that price-tag and get a top striking option through the door.
