Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ben Davies has been linked with joining their Premier League rivals.

Following recent reports that Tottenham full-back Ben Davies is being targeted by their Premier League rivals, it may be time for Mauricio Pochettino to start looking at possible replacements, and there is one player who surely deserves to be considered very seriously.

The Daily Mirror recently suggested that Crystal Palace had seen a bid rejected for the Wales international, while The Sun reported earlier in the month that Manchester City were monitoring his progress.

While Tottenham seem determined to hold onto Davies, they may well feel that there is a price that they would consider selling him for especially as he has spent the majority of his time at White Hart Lane as Danny Rose’s understudy.

Should one of the clubs chasing his signature meet any asking price they set, Pochettino should turn his attention to a teenager who already boasts a league title medal, international caps and Champions League experience.

Celtic starlet Kieran Tierney is already one of the first names on Brendan Rodgers’ teamsheet at Parkhead, and he could perhaps be the ideal replacement if Spurs decide to give Davies the green light to move elsewhere.

The Hoops’ domestic dominance has given the 19-year-old plenty of opportunities to play a high-intensity style of attacking football that would look somewhat familiar to Tottenham fans, but his experience in Europe’s premier competition has also allowed him to play against some of the continent’s best forwards.

Though Spurs fans may look at the standard of the Scottish Premiership and be sceptical about whether Tierney is capable of making the step up if he was to make a move, they only have to look at one of their own, Victor Wanyama, to know that those who shine in Scotland can replicate that level in England and subsequently develop further.

Pochettino may be very keen to keep Davies for as long as possible, but it may make sense to just keep an eye on Tierney’s progress because the early signs suggest that he has all the attributes to become a very special player.
