At the tail-end of November, 14-year-old goalkeeper Conner Byrne made national headlines when he made his senior debut for Glenavon in Northern Ireland. It was an incredible feat by the schoolboy and one which proves his potential talent as a future professional goalkeeper.
He should certainly be a player who is on the radar of several Premier League teams. One team that should certainly be keeping tabs on him are Tottenham Hotspur.
The London club have a rich history of bringing through top talent and Byrne would have a chance to be a massive hit if he made such a move.
He would also be able to try walk in the footsteps of a Northern Ireland hero, Pat Jennings. The legendary stopper, who played 119 times for his country, is a hero at Spurs – even if he did go on to play for bitter rivals Arsenal – after 13 sensational years at White Hart Lane.

He is still involved with Spurs,, with whom he won the FA Cup, League Cup twice and UEFA Cup – as well as the Football Writers Player of the Year in 1973.
Bryne has obviously found himself immediately compared to Jennings and would be wise to follow his national hero in making a switch to England to fine tune his development. Where better than at Spurs, especially with Jennings still involved at the club?
Byrne, who has been capped by Northern Ireland at under-16 level, is clearly a talent beyond his years and Spurs would be wise to take a punt on his potential coming good in North London.
