Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be fairly busy during the summer transfer window.
Tottenham’s Danny Rose in action
Spurs have enjoyed a tremendously successful campaign thus far, and currently sit in second position in the table, just four points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, with four games remaining.
Whatever happens this term, however, there could be much change at Tottenham over the summer, with first-choice full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker being linked with moves away from the club.
Manchester City are reportedly keen on both players (Telegraph), and with the fine performances of Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier recently, it would be no surprise to see either Rose or Walker leave during the transfer window.
Whilst it seems a worrying situation on the face of it for Spurs fans, it could actually turn out to be a rather positive one.
Rose, 26, would command at least £40 million in today’s market, and if an offer is made anywhere near that region they should not hesitate in selling. They have Davies already at the club, who has proven that he is easily capable of performing at the highest level on a consistent basis.
The Lilywhites would have to buy another left-back, however, and should consider a move for Southampton star Ryan Bertrand.
The 27-year-old is ideally suited to the manner in which Tottenham play, and can operate as an orthodox full-back, or in the more attacking wing-back role.
He would probably cost Spurs around £15 million, which would leave a huge surplus of cash left over from what they would have received form selling Rose. This could then be used to help fund a move for a superstar.

Spurs are desperately in need of a marquee signing who can win games on his own, and make the difference for Maurico Pochettino’s men in big games.
Someone in the mould of Real Madrid’s Isco would be ideal for the Lilywhites, and would undoubtedly give them something special. He would also ease the burden on the shoulders of Christian Eriksen, who is relied upon as Tottenham’s only real creative outlet.
The problem is, with Spurs being in the process of a stadium move, the funds available to the Argentine will be limited over the next few seasons.
So in order to fund a move for a player of Isco’s ilk, they will have to make what seem to be difficult decisions regarding some of their key players.
In the grand scheme of things though, having Bertrand and Davies as left-back options would not weaken the Tottenham side.
And if they could add someone like Isco in the process, they would surely be in a far stronger position to challenge for major honours next term.
