Tottenham have their attention on the upcoming Carabao Cup match.

Tottenham host Watford on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup and it’s the perfect opportunity for manager Mauricio Pochettino to give some of his squad the opportunity to impress.
There certainly appears to be places up for grabs in the starting XI after a spate of mixed performances, which is why some fringe men could lay down a marker in midweek.
One man that should get the opportunity to start is Victor Wanyama, who has been eased back from a knee injury this season by the manager.
The central midfielder came off the bench in the 83rd minute during a defeat to Liverpool recently, meaning he’s had just seven first-team minutes of action so far this campaign.
He should now be thrown back into the starting XI in the cup and the 27-year-old proved in the past he’s good enough to be a mainstay in the side.
Wanyama is a powerhouse defensive midfielder that adds real steel to the team and he should replace the out of sorts Eric Dier to screen the back four.

There is certainly an opportunity for Wanyama to break into the side if he gets game time and it seems a no-brainer for that to begin against Watford.
Spurs need a lift to their side moving forward and the Kenyan enforcer could be the catalyst for that.
