The Sevilla man is attracting interest from Chelsea, but Tottenham Hotspur should gatecrash the party.
Spurs fans are growing impatient with their club’s lack of transfer activity so far this summer, with all of their Premier League rivals already getting their business done early.
Mauricio Pochettino cannot be criticised one little bit for the job he has done at Tottenham, and the work he has put in should ensure that he gets full backing from Daniel Levy and co when it comes to transfers – something that has quite clearly not been the case since the Argentine’s appointment as boss back in 2013.
One particular area where the Lilywhites need to strengthen is the attacking wide positions, with Erik Lamela still out injured, and with this in mind, they should consider challenging Chelsea and Atletico Madrid for Sevilla winger Vitolo, who has a £35 million release cause inserted into his contract, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old Spaniard is highly gifted from a technical perspective, and embodies all of the attributes that a modern day winger should possess. His hard-working attitude is a prerequisite for any Pochettino signing, and the selfless manner in which he creates space and opportunities for his teammates makes him the ideal fit for Spurs, what with the team ethos they have.
He chipped in with six goals and six assists in 31 La Liga outings for Sevilla last season, whilst being deployed in 10 different positions. That kind of versatility would surely appeal to Pochettino, who places such high importance on the ability to make in-game changes to formation and tactics.
His 11 caps for Spain over the course of the last two years underline his quality, and if Tottenham manage to sign him, it could turn out to be the deal that makes the difference between finishing second and first next season.
